Sure, it's retro sounds, and it's not a sound designer's dream come true, and without owning the latest (more expensive) V collection, you miss out on a lot of the surgical customization of patches, but the sounds out of the box are more than solid, and the patch customization they do give you means you can dial in solid, usable sounds fast. It's not the best, but for the price right now. You'd be crazy not to pick this thing up. This is actually more like 4 1/2 stars for me. Otherwise, it's still an incredible value, and I would suggest it's a great buy regardless.įrom Philadelphia PA on AugMusic Background: Hobbyist Producer If you wanted to dip your toes in the analog synth world and can find it on sale, I would dare say this is the perfect option. It has everything in terms of sounds, and compared to a lot of other VIs I've seen, it has just the right amount of configuration options and usable presets to you get you moving right away, and then allow you to dig in deep later. I doubt you could pick it apart in the context of a mix. As noted, I'm not a synth expert, but the quality is great to my ears. VH's Jump anyone?! Luckily it was on sale at Sweetwater. not to mention, I really had fun with this guy. I had the song, kind of needed the real license now.

I did not receive the license directly from Arturia, so I won't blame them for crummy sales tactics (I would not have installed it had I known it was a trial), though it worked. Wonderful, can't ask for anything more, can you?! Shortly after, I saw the licensed expired in the near future. I went through the helpful tutorial and about half way through found I had been inspired to write a song with what I had heard. I thought this was great, free stuff!! I'm new to the synth world, so I thought I'd give it shot and start getting familiar with the classic analog synths I hear/read so much about in my production research.

I received a trial license in the mail, though it was not obvious it was a trial license.
